BREAKING: Atlanta Hawks Player Reportedly Ruled Out For Remainder Of NBA Season
UPDATE: The Atlanta Hawks have officially announced that Saddiq Bey will miss the remainder of the season.
On Sunday evening, the Atlanta Hawks hosted the New Orleans Pelicans at State Farm Arena in Georgia.
The Hawks lost the game by a score of 116-103, and Saddiq Bey left the game early with an injury.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Bey has now been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The 24-year-old finishes the year with averages of 13.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 41.6% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point range in 63 games.
Via Wojnarowski: "ESPN Sources: Atlanta Hawks F Saddiq Bey has suffered a season-ending torn left ACL. MRI revealed injury this morning. Bey — who’ll be a restricted free agent this summer — has averaged 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds."
Bey was the 19th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Villanova and is in his fourth season in the league.
Before the Hawks, he spent two and a half seasons with the Detroit Pistons.
His career averages are 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 40.8% from the field and 35.2% from the three-point range in 292 regular season games.
As for the Hawks, they are the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 29-35 record in 64 games.
The have gone 5-5 over their last ten games.
Following the Pelicans, the Hawks will now begin a road trip and face off against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday evening in Oregon.
The Hawks have made the NBA playoffs in each of the previous three seasons.
