BREAKING: Bradley Beal's Final Injury Status For Suns-Warriors Game
On Tuesday evening, the Phoenix Suns are facing off against the Golden State Warriors on the road at the Chase Center for their first game of the 2023-24 regular season.
Over the summer, they traded for three-time All-Star Bradley Beal, but he will not debut for the Suns in Tuesday's game.
Via Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium: "Bradley Beal has been ruled out of Suns-Warriors on Opening Night due to back issue. Beal had been unlikely throughout the day, but there’s optimism the All-Star is progressing in his return process."
Beal is coming off a strong season for the Wizards, where he averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest while shooting 50.6% from the field and 36.5% from the three-point range in 50 games.
His addition makes the Suns arguably the best offensive team in the league, as they already have Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
That said, it's only the first game of the regular season, so being cautious with Beal is likely the best decision.
Beal spent his first 11 seasons with the Wizards and has career averages of 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 46.0% from the field and 37.2% from the three-point range in 695 regular season games.
Meanwhile, the Suns are coming off a year where they were the fourth seed in the Western Conference and lost to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the NBA playoffs (in six games).
