BREAKING: Donovan Mitchell And Darius Garland's Final Injury Status For Wednesday’s Game
On Wednesday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers are hosting the Detroit Pistons in Ohio.
For the game, they will be without their two best players, as Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports that Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell have both been ruled out.
Via Fedor: "#Cavs Donovan Mitchell (groin soreness) and Darius Garland (thumb soreness) are both OUT tonight against Detroit, sources tell @clevelanddotcom. Raul Neto and Caris LeVert will be stepping into the starting lineup, sources say."
Garland made the 2022 NBA All-Star Game and is once again in the middle of a productive season.
The former Vanderbilt star is averaging 22.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 8.1 assists per contest in 47 games (while shooting 46.1% from the field and 41.5% from the three-point range).
As for Mitchell, he is a four-time NBA All-Star who is in his first season with the franchise.
So far, he has been sensational and is averaging 26.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest in 46 games (while shooting 47.3% from the field and 38.6% from the three-point range).
The Cavs haven't made the NBA Playoffs since 2018, but there is a very good chance the drought will end in 2023.
They are currently the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 34-22 record in 56 games.
At home, the Cavs have gone 22-6 in the 28 games they have hosted in Ohio.
As for the Pistons, they are 14-41 in 55 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are 7-20 in 27 games on the road.
