BREAKING: Ja Morant's Final Injury Status For Grizzlies-Lakers Game 3
On Saturday evening, the Memphis Grizzlies will be in California to face off with the Los Angeles Lakers for Game 3 of their first-round playoff series.
For the game, they will have their best player back in the starting lineup, as All-Star point guard Ja Morant has been upgraded to available.
Via Grizzlies PR: ". @memgrizz status update:
Ja Morant will start Game 3 tonight against the @Lakers."
This is a massive boost for the Grizzlies because Morant got injured at the end of Game 1 and missed Game 2.
That said, the Grizzlies did an excellent job in his absence to win Game 2 by a score of 103-93 and tie up the series at 1-1, heading to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.
Morant is coming off another sensational regular season where he averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 46.6% from the field.
He was the second pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Murray State and has led the Grizzlies to the NBA Playoffs three years in a row.
They finished the 2022-23 season with a 51-31 record and are the second seed in the Western Conference for the second consecutive season.
That said, the Grizzlies went just 16-25 in the 41 games they played on the road away from Memphis.
As for the Lakers, they are 23-18 in the 41 games they have hosted on their home floor in Los Angeles.
Whoever wins the series will advance to the second round to face off with either the Sacramento Kings or Golden State Warriors.
