UPDATE: LaMelo Ball has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game. 

Via Hornets PR: "INJURY UPDATE: @hornets guard LaMelo Ball left the game in the 2Q tonight in Orlando with a right ankle strain, he will not return."

On Sunday evening, the Charlotte Hornets are in Florida facing off against the Orlando Magic. 

During the game, LaMelo Ball got injured, and went to the locker room. 

Via Bally Sports: Hornets: "LaMelo Ball was injured on this play and had to be helped to the locker room."

Ball came into the evening with averages of 25.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.2% from the field and 38.9% from the three-point range.  

The Hornets are 5-9 in their first 14 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference. 

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and most recently defeated the Washington Wizards by a score of 117-114. 

In 40 minutes of playing time, Ball had 34 points, eight rebounds, 13 assists and one steal while shooting 13/31 from the field and 6/16 from the three-point range. 

Following the Magic, the Hornets will play their next game when they visit Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks on Tuesday evening at Madison Square Garden.

Ball is in his fourth season in the NBA (all with the Hornets) and has career averages of 20.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 42.7% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range.
