BREAKING: LaMelo Ball's Injury Status In Pistons-Hornets Game

LaMelo Ball has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game.

On Monday night, the Charlotte Hornets are hosting the Detroit Pistons in North Carolina.

During the game, their best player LaMelo Ball got injured, and it's now been announced that he will not return for the remainder of the evening.

Charlotte Hornets PR: "INJURY UPDATE: @hornets guard LaMelo Ball left the third quarter of tonight’s game vs DET with a right ankle injury. He will be out for the remainder of the game."

The 2022 NBA All-Star has dealt with injuries this season but came into the night with impressive averages of 23.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.3 steals per contest in 35 games.

He is also shooting 40.7% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point range.

The Hornets have made the play-in tournament in each of the last two seasons, but this year they have struggled in a big way.

Right now, they are 19-43 in 62 games, which has them as the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference.

That said, the Hornets came into the matchup in the middle of a four-game losing streak.

Over the last ten games, they have gone 4-6, and they are 10-18 in the 28 games they have hosted at home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ball was the third pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is in his third season in the league (all with the Hornets).

He is one of the best young players in the NBA and is only 21 years old, so he will likely continue to get better.
