On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Atlanta Hawks in California.

For the game, they will have one of their best players available, as 2017 MVP Russell Westbrook has been upgraded to available.

Underdog NBA: "Russell Westbrook (foot) available to play Friday."

The former UCLA star comes into the night with averages of 14.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per contest in 35 games.

On Wednesday evening, the Lakers beat the Miami Heat 112-109, and Westbrook had 21 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and three blocks.

The Lakers come into the night with a 17-21 record in 38 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 5-5 in their last ten games but also in the middle of a three-game winning streak.

Last week, they beat the Hawks 130-121 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Westbrook is in his second season with the franchise, and while he has put up solid numbers, the team has not been good during his tenure.

Last season, they went 33-49 and missed the NBA Playoffs, and this year it appears as if it will be a challenge for them to make the postseason.

As for the Hawks, they are 18-20 in 38 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are 4-6 in their last ten games and coming off a 120-117 win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night.

On the road, the Hawks are 7-12, while the Lakers are 9-8 at home.
