BREAKING: Steph Curry Injury Update Reported After Bulls-Warriors Game
On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors hosted the Chicago Bulls at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
The Warriors lost by a score of 125-122, but the more significant concern was that two-time MVP Steph Curry left the game with an injury and did not return.
Following the game (on Friday), Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported an update.
Via Charania: "Warriors star Stephen Curry will miss some time – at least a game or few games – with a right ankle sprain but there's optimism his absence will not be lengthy, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater."
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski also reported an update.
Via Wojnarowski: "ESPN Sources: Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry’s MRI on his right ankle returned clean on Friday and a clearer timeline on his return will come with how ankle responds over next several days."
Curry is in the middle of another fantastic season and is averaging 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest while shooting 44.9% from the field and 40.7% from the three-point range in 59 games.
That said, the Warriors are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the ninth seed in the Western Conference and have a 33-29 record in 62 games.
They will need to win as many games as possible down the stretch of the season to remain in contention for a top-six seed.
Following the Bulls, the Warriors will play their next game on Saturday evening when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
