UPDATE: According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Tyler Herro will be out for at least two weeks.  

Via Chiang: "MRI shows Heat guard Tyler Herro suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain, according to a league source. He'll be re-evaluated in a few weeks. 

Positive news, considering it could have been much worse."

On Wednesday evening, the Miami Heat are in Tennessee facing off against the Memphis Grizzlies. 

During the game, Tyler Herro got injured and went to the locker room. 

Via Underdog NBA: "Status alert: Tyler Herro (leg) headed to locker room Wednesday."

The Heat have now announced that Herro has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.     

Herro finished his night with six points, one rebound, two assists and one steal while shooting 2/4 from the field in eight minutes of playing time.  

Via The Heat: "#MIAvsMEM INJURY UPDATE: Tyler Herro left tonight's game with a right ankle sprain. He will not return."

Herro came into the evening with averages of 25.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 44.6% from the field and 41.0% from the three-point range. 

He is one of the team's best players, so his status going forward will be something to watch. 

This is Herro's fifth season in the NBA, and he has helped the Heat make the NBA playoffs in each of the previous four seasons.

His career averages are 17.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest while shooting 44.0% from the field and 38.4% from the three-point range in 249 regular season games. 

The Heat came into the evening with a 3-4 record in their first seven games and most recently defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 108-107. 

Following the Grizzlies, they will play their next game against the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia.
