On Friday evening, the Phoenix Suns are facing off with the Los Angeles Lakers on the road in California.

For the remainder of the night, the Suns will be without two of their key role players, as Cameron Payne and Bismack Biyombo have both been ruled out.

Via the Suns: "INJURY UPDATE: Cameron Payne (low back) will not return tonight."

Payne finished his night with 13 points, one rebound and four assists in 15 minutes of playing time.

Via The Suns: "INJURY UPDATE: Bismack Biyombo (right knee injury) will not return tonight."

Biyombo played 12 minutes and put up four points, five rebounds, one assist and three blocks.

The Suns had already been shorthanded entering the matchup because they are playing without Kevin Durant, Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker, Chris Paul and T.J. Warren.

That said, the game is not important for the team because they are already locked in as the fourth seed in the Western Conference for the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

The Suns are 45-35 in 80 games and came into the night in the middle of a seven-game winning streak.

They are headed to the playoffs for the third straight season, and in 2021 they made the NBA Finals.

As for the Lakers (41-39), they are the seventh seed (one of the four play-in tournament spots) in the west and still have a lot to play for.

They are 7-3 in their last ten games and 21-18 in the 39 games they have hosted on their home floor in Los Angeles, California.
