Charles Barkley's Bold Statement About Boston Celtics Before Bucks Game
On Thursday evening, the Boston Celtics are facing off against the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin.
Before the game, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley spoke about the Celtics (via the NBA on TNT).
Barkley: "No disrespect to the champion Nuggets or the L.A. Clippers. Those are the second and third-best teams in the NBA. There's nobody in the NBA on the level with the Celtics right now. They are the best team. I think they're the best team by far."
The Celtics are the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 29-8 record in their first 37 games.
They are 8-2 over their last ten games and most recently defeated Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves (in overtime) by a score of 127-120.
Following Thursday's showdown with the Bucks, the Celtics will host the Houston Rockets on Saturday evening.
At home, they are a perfect 18-0, while they have gone 11-8 in the 19 games they have played on the road.
In 2022, the Celtics reached the NBA Finals, and they are coming off a year where they lost to the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Conference Finals.
Over the offseason, they made significant additions by acquiring 2018 NBA All-Star Kristaps Porzingis and 2021 NBA Champion Jrue Holiday.
Both players have fit in seamlessly, and the Celtics appear to have an excellent chance to win the 2024 NBA Championship.
The Bucks are currently the second seed (one spot behind Boston) in the Eastern Conference with a 25-12 record in 37 games.
