D'Angelo Russell's Final Injury Status For Lakers Game On Sunday

D'Angelo Russell has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers are in Texas to face off with the Dallas Mavericks.

For the game, they will be without their star point guard, as D'Angelo Russell has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.

Underdog NBA: "D'Angelo Russell (ankle) ruled out Sunday."

The 2019 NBA All-Star was traded to the Lakers (via the Minnesota Timberwolves) earlier this month.

He is in the middle of a fantastic season with averages of 17.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

Russell is also shooting an excellent 46.4% from the field and 38.9% from the three-point range.

The former Ohio State star was initially selected with the second pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and spent the first two seasons of his career with the Lakers.

He has also played for the Brooklyn Nets and Golden State Warriors (in addition to the Timberwolves).

Right now, the Lakers are 28-32 in 60 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 5-5 in their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Despite their record, the Lakers are only 1.5 games behind the New Orleans Pelicans for the tenth seed (the final play-in tournament spot).

As for the Mavs, they are the sixth seed in the west with a 32-29 record in 61 games.

Over the last ten games, they have gone 6-4, and they are an incredible 20-10 in the 30 games they have hosted in Dallas, Texas.
