UPDATE: Darius Garland is available.

UPDATE: Chris Fedor of cleveland.com reports that Darius Garland participated in shootaround.

On Wednesday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center in New York.

However, they could be without one of their best players, as 2022 All-Star Darius Garland is listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury.

Via Underdog NBA: "Darius Garland (hamstring) listed questionable for Wednesday."

Garland is coming off another impressive year where he averaged 21.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 46.2% from the field and 41.0% from the three-point range in 69 games.

The former Vanderbilt star was the fifth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has played four seasons in the league (all with the Cavs).

His career averages are 18.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 44.9% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range in 250 regular season games (he has also appeared in five NBA playoff games).

The Cavs are coming off a fantastic season where they were the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference and made the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2018 (when LeBron James was still on the roster).

However, they lost to the New York Knicks in the first round (in five games).

Meanwhile, the Nets are coming off a year where they were the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 45-37 record.

They got swept by Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.
