On Wednesday evening, the Chicago Bulls are hosting the Philadelphia 76ers at the United Center in Illinois.

During the game, All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan got injured, and it has now been announced that he will not return for the remainder of the contest.

The former USC star finishes the night with four points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes of playing time.

Via The Bulls: "Injury Update: DeMar DeRozan (right quad strain) is OUT for the remainder of tonight's game vs. the Sixers."

DeRozan is in his second season with the Bulls and has been an outstanding fit on the roster.

He's been an All-Star in both seasons and averaged a career-high 27.9 points per contest in 2022.

Right now, the 33-year-old is averaging a very good 25.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest (while shooting 51.2% from the field).

Last year, DeRozan helped the Bulls make the NBA Playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season.

That said, they have had a disappointing season and came into the night with a 34-37 record in 71 games, which had them as the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference (the final play-in tournament spot).

They are on a three-game winning streak and 20-16 in the 36 games they have hosted on their home floor at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

As for the 76ers, they are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 48-23 record in 71 games.
