On Sunday evening, the Houston Rockets will host the Boston Celtics in Texas. 

For the game, the Rockets will be without one of their best players, as Fred VanVleet is on the injury report.

VanVleet is in his first season with Houston and is currently averaging 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 40.6% from the field and 38.8% from the three-point range in 40 games.  

The Rockets are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 20-21 record in their first 41 games. 

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Utah Jazz by a score of 127-126 (in overtime). 

In 34 minutes of playing time,  VanVleet had 18 points, five rebounds, seven assists, one steal and three blocks while shooting 8/19 from the field and 2/10 from the three-point range. 

Following the Celtics, the Rockets will remain at home to host Deandre Ayton and the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday evening in Houston.  

At home, they are 16-6 in 22 games. 

As for the Celtics, they are the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 32-10 record in their first 42 games.   

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and coming off a 102-100 loss to Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets. 

Following Houston, the Celtics will stay in Texas to face off against Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks on Monday evening.
