On Thursday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks faced off against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis. 

The Bucks lost by a score of 126-124, and Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 29 points, six rebounds and ten assists.  

Despite the loss, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo had a fantastic night with 54 points, 12 rebounds and three assists while shooting 19/25 from the field in 36 minutes of playing time.  

He also made NBA history by moving ahead of Hall of Famer Nate Archibald (16,481) for 105th on the all-time scoring list

Antetokounmpo now has 16,505 career points, and the next player for him to pass will be Paul George (16,539). 

With the loss, the Bucks are 5-3 in their first eight games and 1-2 in the three games they have played on the road outside of Wisconsin.  

Antetokounmpo has played in all eight games and is averaging 28.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting 56.2% from the field. 

Following the Pacers, they will play their next game against the Orlando Magic on Saturday evening in Florida. 

After the game, Antetokounmpo sent out a post on X.

Antetokounmpo captioned his post: "54. 45. 5. It doesn’t matter. A lot of good things we can learn from today to get better 💪🏾💪🏾"

The Bucks are coming off a season where they were the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 58-24 record. 

However, they lost to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
