Golden State Warriors Player Will Undergo Surgery
On Wednesday evening, the Golden State Warriors will begin a five-game road trip when they face off with the Los Angeles Clippers in Los Angeles, California.
They will play the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks (following the Clippers).
Before their showdown with the Clippers, the team announced an unfortunate update.
Four-time NBA Champion Andre Iguodala has a fractured left wrist and will undergo surgery.
Via Warriors PR: "Warriors forward Andre Iguodala will undergo surgery next week for a fractured left wrist. Iguodala suffered the injury during Monday's win over the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center. An update on his status will be provided following the surgery."
Iguodala is in his 19th season in the NBA and has played in eight games with averages of 2.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest (while shooting 46.7% from the field).
That said, he is one of their most important veterans, so this is a tough loss for the team going into the final few weeks of the regular season.
The 39-year-old played for the Warriors from 2013-19 and then returned to the organization in 2021-22.
The Warriors come into Wednesday night with a 36-33 record in 69 games, which has them tied with the Clippers for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
They are 7-3 in their last ten games and also in the middle of a two-game winning streak.
That said, the Warriors are just 7-26 in the 33 games they have played on the road away from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
