UPDATE: Golden State Warriors Star Absent From Practice Due To Illness
UPDATE: Klay Thompson returned to practice on Monday (h/t Ron Kroichick of The San Francisco Chronicle).
On Friday evening, the Golden State Warriors lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder (in Oklahoma) by a score of 138-136.
The game was close and went into overtime, but the Warriors had an astonishing 28 turnovers.
They will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they visit Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.
On Sunday, the Warriors had practice, but they were without four-time NBA Champion Klay Thompson, who missed practice due to an illness.
Via Ron Kroichick of The San Francisco Chronicle: "Also on #Warriors: Klay Thompson was sick and didn’t practice today. W’s planning to practice again tomorrow ahead of Tuesday night game vs. Suns"
Thompson is one of the best players of all time but has struggled this season.
The five-time NBA All-Star is averaging 15.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 40.4% from the field and 35.4% from the three-point range in 21 games.
For reference, Thompson shoots 45.4% from the field and 41.4% from the three-point range over 737 career regular season games.
Despite Thompson's struggles, he is still one of the team's best players, so his status ahead of Tuesday's game (against the Suns) will be noteworthy.
Right now, the Warriors are 10-12 in their first 22 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
They are 4-6 over their last ten games and 5-6 in the 11 games they have played on the road away from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
