Grizzlies And Pelicans Injury Reports
On Wednesday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season in Tennessee.
For the game, both teams have announced their injury reports.
The Pelicans will be without Trey Murphy III, Naji Marshall and Jose Alvarado.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies have ruled out Steven Adams, Santi Aldama, Brandon Clarke and Ja Morant (suspension).
The Pelicans are coming off a season where they were the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 42-40 record.
However, they lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the play-in tournament, so they missed the NBA playoffs.
If the Pelicans can have a healthy season, they will be a contender to make the playoffs.
Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum lead a very talented roster.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies were the second seed in the Western Conference last year (for the second straight season) with a 51-31 record.
However, they lost to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in six games).
The Grizzlies have made the playoffs for three straight seasons but have only won one playoff series in that span.
On Tuesday, the team revealed more details about Aldama's injury.
Via Grizzlies PR: "Aldama suffered a mild right ankle sprain in practice and is considered day-to-day."
Following the Pelicans, the Grizzlies will host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.
As for the Pelicans, they will host the New York Knicks on Saturday night in Louisiana.
