FINAL UPDATE: Ja Morant has been ruled out.

On Wednesday evening, the Memphis Grizzlies will host the Los Angeles Lakers for Game 2 of their first-round playoff series.

For the game, they could be without their best player, as All-Star guard Ja Morant is on the injury report.

Underdog NBA: "Status alert: Ja Morant (hand) officially questionable for Wednesday."

Head coach Taylor Jenkins met with the media on Tuesday and said that the former Murray State star would be a game-time decision.

Via ESPN's Tim MacMahon: "“He’s going to be a game-time decision,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said of Ja Morant."

Morant exited the fourth quarter of Game 1 and did not return.

Before getting hurt, he played 30 minutes and had 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

During the regular season, Morant averaged a sensational 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 46.6% from the field.

The Lakers won Game 1 by a score of 128-112, so they can take a 2-0 lead with a win on Wednesday.

Games 3 and 4 will be played in Los Angeles, so the Grizzlies will want to avoid falling into a big hole before they head on the road.

In 41 games outside of Memphis, the Grizzlies went just 16-25 during the regular season.

That said, they are also the second seed and finished with a 51-31 record.

The Lakers went 43-39 and are the seventh seed (they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament).

Whoever wins the series will face off with either the Golden State Warriors or Sacramento Kings in the second round.
