Jayson Tatum's Status For Wizards-Celtics Game

On Sunday afternoon, the Boston Celtics will host the Washington Wizards in Massachuestts.

For the game, the Celtics will be without their best player, as All-Star forward Jayson Tatum has been ruled out.

Tatum also missed the team's last game, so this will be his second straight out of the starting lineup.

Tatum had another incredible season with averages of 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point range in 74 games.

The Celtics are the first seed in the Eastern Conference (and the best team in the NBA) with a 63-18 record in 81 games.

They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Charlotte Hornets by a score of 131-98.

Payton Pritchard led the way with 31 points, three rebounds, 11 assists and one steal while shooting 14/22 from the field and 3/8 from the three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

Last season, the Celtics lost to the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

As for the Wizards, they had a tough season and are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 15-66 record in 81 games.

They have gone 2-8 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a five-game losing streak.

The franchise last made the NBA playoffs during the 2021 season when Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook were still on the roster.
