Joel Embiid's Official Injury Status For 76ers-Trail Blazers Game
UPDATE: Joel Embiid has been officially ruled out on the 3:30 Eastern Time injury report.
On Monday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers will face off against the Portland Trail Blazers in Oregon.
For the game, they will remain without their best player, as Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Joel Embiid has been ruled out.
The 2023 MVP also missed the team's last game, so this will be his second straight out of the lineup.
Via Pompey: "Sixers center Joel Embiid (left knee) will miss tonight’s game vs. the Portland Trail Blazers, according to league sources."
Embiid is in the middle of an excellent season and has averages of 36.0 points, 11.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 53.9% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 33 games.
The 76ers are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 29-15 record in their first 44 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and are 6-4 over their last ten games.
Following Monday's showdown with Portland, the 76ers will head to San Francisco to face off against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday evening at the Chase Center.
As for the Trail Blazers, they are the 14th seed in the Western Conference and have a 13-33 record in their first 46 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and are also 3-7 over their last ten games.
Following the 76ers, the Trail Blazers will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday evening.
