BREAKING: Joel Embiid's Final Status For Nets-76ers Game
On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia 76ers will host the Brooklyn Nets in Pennsylvania.
For the game, the 76ers will be without their best player, as 2023 MVP Joel Embiid has been ruled out.
Via John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia: "Iβm told Joel Embiid sitting out the regular season finale today is precautionary and he is expected to be ready to go for the Sixers next game"
Embiid has had another outstanding season with averages of 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per contest while shooting 52.9% from the field and 38.8% from the three-point range in 39 games.
The 76ers are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a 46-35 record in 81 games.
They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a seven-game winning streak.
Most recently, the 76ers beat the Orlando Magic by a score of 125-113.
Embiid finished with 32 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and one block while shooting 10/23 from the field and 4/7 from the three-point range in 32 minutes of playing time.
The 76ers are headed to the NBA playoffs for the seventh straight season.
Last year, they lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round (in seven games).
As for the Nets, they are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 32-49 record in 81 games.
They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the New York Knicks (at Madison Square Garden) by a score of 111-107.
The Nets will not qualify for the 2024 NBA playoffs.
