On Monday evening, the Brooklyn Nets faced off against the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina.

The Nets won their first game of the season by a score of 133-121, and Cam Thomas led the way with 33 points in 38 minutes of playing time.

However, Spencer Dinwiddie got hurt during the game, and did not return for the remainder of the night.

He finished the game with five points, one rebound and three assists in 13 minutes of playing time.

Via The Nets: "Spencer Dinwiddie is out for the remainder of tonight’s game due to a sprained left ankle."

Evan Barnes of Newsday Sports reported more details following the game.

Via Barnes: "Spencer Dinwiddie tried to warm up at halftime, Jacque Vaughn said, but he couldn’t go. We’ll know more tomorrow when the injury report comes out"

Dinwiddie is in his second tenure with the Nets after getting traded (via the Dallas Mavericks) during the middle of last season.

He finished the 2022-23 regular season with averages of 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 36.9% from the three-point range in 79 games.

The Nets are 1-2 in their first three games and will play their next game on Wednesday when they visit the Miami Heat in Florida.

Last season, they were the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 45-37 record.

They made the NBA playoffs but got swept in the first round by James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers.
