Key Player Ruled Out For Trail Blazers-Clippers Game
On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season when they host the Portland Trail Blazers in California.
For the game, they will be without one of their best players, as Terance Mann has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.
Via Underdog NBA: "Terance Mann (ankle) ruled out for Wednesday."
Mann is coming off a solid year where he averaged 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 51.9% from the field and 38.9% from the three-point range in 81 games.
The former Florida State star was the 48th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has spent his entire four-year career with the Clippers.
His career averages are 8.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field and 38.3% from the three-point range in 270 regular season games (he has also appeared in 37 NBA playoff games).
The Clippers are coming off a season where they were the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
They lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in five games).
That said, the Clippers have one of the best rosters in the league with Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook and Paul George.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers were the 13th seed in the west last season and missed the NBA playoffs (and the play-in tournament) for the second straight year.
Over the offseason, they traded away superstar Damian Lillard, so the franchise is now in rebuilding mode.
