Klay Thompson's Honest Quote About Golden State Warriors Future
On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors will face off against the Kings in Sacramento for the play-in tournament.
The winner of the game will then play either the New Orleans Pelicans or Los Angeles Lakers for a chance at the eighth seed.
Meanwhile, the loser will head home for the offseason.
Four-time NBA Champion Klay Thompson is a free agent this summer, so there is a possibility that he could be playing in his final game for Golden State.
Before the game, he met with the media and was asked about his future (h/t KNBR).
Reporter: "You're a free agent at the end of the year. Any of these games could be the last time you play in a Warriors uniform. Is it difficult at all to not let that creep into your mind?"
Thompson: "Nah. That’s life, man. Had so much success here I'm not gonna let whatever in the future happens make me salty about what I’ve been able to accomplish in a Warriors uniform. I don't let that seep in at all."
Thompson finished the regular season with averages of 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 43.2% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range in 77 games.
The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 46-36 record.
They have gone 8-2 over their last ten games.
Last season, the Warriors beat the Kings in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in seven games).
However, they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round (in six games).
