LaMelo Ball Injury Update Before Pelicans-Hornets Game

The Charlotte Hornets announced an injury update on LaMelo Ball before Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the Charlotte Hornets will host the New Orleans Pelicans in North Carolina.   

For the game, they will remain without their best player, as LaMelo Ball has been ruled out.

Before the matchup with the Pelicans, the Hornets announced an update on the 2022 NBA All-Star.  

Via Hornets PR: "INJURY UPDATE: @hornets guard LaMelo Ball has continued progressing in conditioning and individual activities and updates on his status will be provided as appropriate."

Ball has played in 15 games so far this season and is averaging 24.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 44.3% from the field and 38.8% from the three-point range. 

He has missed each of the previous seven games, so this will be his eighth straight out of the lineup.  

As for the Hornets, they are 7-15 in their first 22 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference.  

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak. 

Most recently, the Hornets lost to the Miami Heat by a score of 115-104 on Wednesday in Florida. 

Following the Pelicans, they will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday evening in North Carolina. 

Ball was the third pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is in his fourth season in the league (all with the Hornets). 

His career averages are 19.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 42.8% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range.
