Paul George Injury Update Reported On Wednesday
On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers lost 101-100 to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home in California.
However, the more significant concern was the fact that All-Star forward Paul George got injured during the game.
On Wednesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported an update on the former Fresno State star.
Wojnarowski's first tweet: "ESPN Sources: After imaging today, Clippers star Paul George has a sprained right knee and will be re-evaluated in 2-to-3 weeks."
Wojnarowski's second tweet: "George is expected to be out for the rest of the regular season's nine games, but his timeline for a possible return in the playoffs will be clearer when he's re-evaluated."
George is in the middle of another outstanding season with averages of 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest in 56 games.
He's also shooting 45.7% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range.
While the Clippers have one of the most talented rosters in the league, it's hard to imagine them going anywhere without George being healthy.
Therefore, his status going forward will have drastic implications for the NBA Playoffs (and the rest of the regular season).
Right now, the Clippers are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 38-35 record in 73 games.
They are 5-5 in their last ten games and one game back of the Phoenix Suns for the fourth seed.
The Clippers will play their next game on Thursday evening when they host the Thunder again in Los Angeles, California.
