UPDATE: Philadelphia 76ers Injury Report For Game 2
UPDATE: Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Joel Embiid will play.
On Wednesday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers will be in Massachusetts to take on the Boston Celtics for Game 2 of their second-round playoff series.
For the game, they have announced their injury report (updated as of 5:30 Eastern Time).
2023 NBA MVP Joel Embiid remains listed as doubtful, and no one else is on the injury report.
That said, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported (earlier in the day) that Embiid is likely to return to the lineup after missing each of the last two games due to a knee injury.
Via Charania: "After winning MVP last night, during a quick 76ers celebration, Joel Embiid turned to the team and said: “I’m back.”
Embiid is indeed on track to return tonight in Game 2 vs. Celtics barring setbacks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."
Getting Embiid back would be significant because he has averaged 20.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.3 blocks per contest through his first six games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
Despite playing without the former Kansas star in Game 1, the 76ers were able to win 119-115 and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
2018 MVP James Harden exploded for 45 points on 17/30 shooting from the field and carried the 76ers to a massive road upset.
The 76ers are the third seed in the Eastern Conference and finished the regular season with a 54-28 record.
They swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round, so they had a lot of rest coming into the series.
Games 3 and 4 will be in Philadelphia on Friday and Sunday.
