FINAL UPDATE: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Injury Status For Thunder-Suns Game
FINAL UPDATE: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been ruled out.
On Friday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be in Arizona to face off with the Phoenix Suns.
For the game, they could be without their best player, as All-Star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.
Underdog NBA: "Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) listed questionable Friday."
The former Kentucky star is having the best season of his career with averages of 31.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest in 54 games (while shooting 50.7% from the field).
Right now, the Thunder are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 28-30 record in 58 games.
While they could have a better record, no one thought the Thunder could make the postseason in 2023.
Yet, Gilgeous-Alexander has them just a half-game back of the ninth seed, and there is an excellent chance they could get into the play-in tournament.
Over the last ten games, the Thunder are 5-5, and they are 11-18 in the 29 games they have played on the road outside of Oklahoma.
As for the Suns, they enter the matchup with a 32-28 record in 60 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the west.
They are a half-game back of the fourth seed (and 2.0 games behind the third seed).
The Suns have played well as of late and are 7-3 in their last ten games.
In addition, they are an outstanding 20-10 in the 30 games they have hosted at home in Arizona.
