Significant Jimmy Butler Injury Update Before Heat-Warriors Game
UPDATE: Jimmy Butler has been ruled out for Thursday's game.
On Thursday evening, the Miami Heat will be in San Francisco to face off against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center.
Jimmy Butler has missed each of the previous three games, but Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald reported a significant update (on Wednesday).
Via Chiang: "Jimmy Butler and Josh Richardson were partial participants in practice today.
Caleb Martin did not practice.
Haywood Highsmith was a full participant.
Everybody expected to travel to San Francisco today, except Dru Smith."
Since Butler was able to be a participant in some of Wednesday's practice and will travel with the team, there is a good chance he could return to the lineup against the Warriors.
The Heat have officially listed the six-time NBA All-Star as questionable.
Via The Heat: "#MIAvsGSW INJURY UPDATE: Jimmy Butler (calf) is listed as questionable to play in tomorrow night’s game vs the Warriors.
Caleb Martin (ankle) and Josh Richardson (back) are both listed as doubtful."
Butler has played in 23 games so far this season and has averages of 21.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 46.2% from the field and 37.7% from the three-point range in 23 games.
The Heat are 18-12 in their first 30 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are 7-3 over their last ten games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.
Following the Warriors, the Heat will visit the Utah Jazz on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
