On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs will be in North Carolina to face off against the Charlotte Hornets.  

For the game, the Spurs will be without their best player, as star rookie Victor Wembanyama has been ruled out for rest. 

Wembanyama has played in 35 games and is averaging 19.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.1 blocks per contest while shooting 46.1% from the field and 29.3% from the three-point range.  

Despite his strong play, the Spurs are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 7-33 record in their first 40 games. 

They are in the middle of a three-game losing streak and are 2-8 over their last ten games. 

Most recently, the Spurs lost to the Boston Celtics by a score of 117-97. 

In 27 minutes of playing time, Wembanyama had 27 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block while shooting 10/19 from the field and 2/6 from the three-point range. 

Following the Hornets, the Spurs will face off against the Washington Wizards on Saturday evening in Washington, D.C. 

As for the Hornets, they are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with an 8-30 record in their first 38 games.

They are in the middle of a six-game losing streak and are 1-9 over their last ten games. 

Most recently, the Hornets lost to the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 132-112. 

Following the Spurs, the Hornets will host Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday evening in North Carolina.
