Victor Wembanyama's Status For Spurs-Trail Blazers Game

Victor Wembanyama is not on the injury report for Thursday's game.

UPDATE: Victor Wembanyama is in the starting lineup (h/t Underdog NBA).

On Thursday evening, the San Antonio Spurs will be in Oregon to face off against the Portland Trail Blazers.

For the game, the Spurs will likely have their best player in the starting lineup, as Victor Wembanyama is not on the injury report.

Via Underdog NBA: "Victor Wembanyama not on injury report Thursday; unlikely to play Friday."

Head coach Gregg Popovich said (after the team's last game on Tuesday) that Wembanyama would not play in both games of their back-to-back, which means that he will likely miss Friday's game (also against the Trail Blazers).

Reporter: "How'd you think Victor looked just moving on that ankle and everything?"

Popovich: "He didn't look 100% to me. But he says he feels fine. Will see how he feels now."

Reporter: "With that in mind, would you anticipate him playing both ends of that back-to-back in Portland?"

Popovich: "He's not gonna play back-to-back."

Wembanyama has played in 26 games so far this season and is averaging 18.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.0 blocks per contest while shooting 43.3% from the field and 27.8% from the three-point range.

That said, the Spurs are 4-25 in their first 29 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 1-9 over their last ten games and in the middle of a five-game losing streak.

Most recently, the Spurs lost to the Utah Jazz by a score of 130-118.

In 24 minutes of playing time, Wembanyama had 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and five blocks.
