Zion Williamson's Enormous Block On LeBron James Went Viral In Lakers-Pelicans Game
On Tuesday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans hosted the Los Angeles Lakers for the play-in tournament.
The Lakers won by a score of 110-106, so they will now be the seventh seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Pelicans will face off against the winner of Tuesday's game between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings for a chance to be the eighth seed.
Despite the loss, Zion Williamson was incredible and finished his night with 40 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block while shooting 17/27 from the field and 0/1 from the three-point range in 36 minutes of playing time.
He also had an enormous block on four-time NBA Champion LeBron James that got a lot of views on social media.
Williamson had an excellent regular season with averages of 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shootign 57.0% from the field.
He also appeared in 70+ games for the first time in his five-year career as a pro.
The Pelicans are coming off a season where they lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the play-in tournament.
They had made the NBA playoffs in 2022 and lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round.
Williamson has yet to appear in a playoff game.
As for the Lakers, they will face off against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
Last season, they were swept by the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.
