On Wednesday evening, the Detroit Pistons will host Pascal Siakam and the Indiana Pacers in Michigan.

Before the game, the Pistons announced that Ausar Thompson and Isaiah Stewart have both been ruled out for the remainder of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Stewart was the 16th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is in his fourth season in the league.

He finishes his year with averages of 10.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 48.7% from the field and 38.3% from the three-point range in 46 games.

Thompson was the fifth pick in the 2023 NBA Draft this past summer and has played in 63 games.

He finishes his rookie season with averages of 8.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest while shooting 48.3% from the field and 18.6% from the three-point range.

As for the Pistons, they have had an extremely disappointing year and will not make the 2024 NBA playoffs (or play-in tournament).

They enter the evening as the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-56 record in 68 games.

They have gone 3-7 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a three-game losing streak.

Most recently, the Pistons lost to Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics by a score of 119-94 (in Massachusetts).

Following the Pacers, they will play the Celtics (at home) on Friday.

The Pistons have struggled for several years and last made the NBA playoffs during the 2019 season when they still had Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin.
