Philadelphia 76ers Still Paying Recent NBA Player Over $2 Million This Season
Montrezl Harrell most recently played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season when he appeared in 57 games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
That year, he averaged 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 59.8% from the field.
Over the offseason, Harrell suffered an injury, and the 76ers waived him.
Since the former Louisville star had money left on his contract, he is still being paid over $2 million this season by the 76ers (h/t Sam Yip of HoopsHype and Spotrac).
Harrell was initially the 32nd pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and has had a very productive career as a role player.
In addition to the 76ers, he has also spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets.
His career averages are 12.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 61.9% from the field in 515 regular season games.
He has also appeared in 32 NBA playoff games with the Clippers, Lakers, Rockets and 76ers.
Over the offseason, Harrell could end up being a good addition to a contending team's bench.
As for the 76ers, they have had another strong season, and are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 46-35 record in 81 games.
They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a seven-game winning streak.
On Sunday afternoon, the 76ers will play their final game of the regular season when they host the Brooklyn Nets.
