The 76ers are coming off a year where they were the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 54-28 record.

They swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the NBA playoffs but lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round (in seven games).

Joel Embiid also won the 2023 NBA MVP Award and had sensational averages of 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per contest while shooting 54.8% from the field.

The franchise has made the NBA playoffs for six straight years but hasn't been to the Eastern Conference Final since the 2001 season (when Allen Iverson was still on the roster).

Meanwhile, the Bucks are also playing their first game of the year, and this will be the first time that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard play together.

The Bucks acquired Lillard in a blockbuster trade with the Portland Trail Blazers over the offseason.

Last year, they were the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 58-24 record but lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in five games).

The franchise has made the postseason for seven straight years and won the 2021 NBA Championship.
