On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors are playing the Miami Heat in Floirda.

During the game, Chris Paul made exciting NBA history by becoming just the third player to ever record 2,600 career steals.

The only two players ahead of Paul on the all-time steals list are Hall of Famers Jason Kidd (2,684) and John Stockton (3,265).

Paul is also playing in his 1,261st game, which moves ahead of Carmelo Anthony for sole possession of 32nd on the all-time regular season games played list.

Following Anthony, the next player for Paul to pass will be Hall of Famer John Havlicek (1,270).

Paul is in his first season with Golden State.

At 38, he is still a productive player and came into the evening with averages of 9.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 44.3% from the field and 38.5% from the three-point range in 46 games.

The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 36-34 record in 70 games.

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Following their matchup with the Heat, the Warriors will travel to Orlando for a showdown with Paolo Banchero and the Magic on Wednesday evening.
