Andrew Wiggins' Status For Thunder-Warriors Game
On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
For the contest, they will remain without Andrew Wiggins, who has missed each of the last 22 games due to personal reasons.
Underdog NBA: "Andrew Wiggins (personal) listed out for Tuesday."
Despite him being ruled out, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported (on Monday) that the former Kansas star will likely be in attendance at the game.
Via Charania on Monday: "Golden State's Andrew Wiggins plans to attend Warriors-Thunder on Tuesday. The reason for Wiggins' leave of absence since mid-February is that his father, Mitchell Wiggins, has been dealing with a serious medical situation, sources close to the situation say."
Before his extended absence away from the team, Wiggins had been in the middle of another fantastic season with averages of 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest in 37 games.
The 2022 NBA All-Star is also shooting a tremendous 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range.
Last season, Wiggins was a huge reason why the Warriors were able to win the NBA Championship over the Boston Celtics.
Therefore, his eventual return to action will give them a massive boost for the 2023 postseason.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported (on Monday) that a return to the lineup is on the horizon.
Right now, the Warriors are 41-38 in 79 games, which has them as the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference.
