On Thursday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

The game was close, but the Timberwolves were able to pull away and win by a score of 118-111.

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 27 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

The Lakers were playing without LeBron James, but Anthony Davis was able to have another fantastic game (despite the loss).

Davis had 31 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks while shooting 11/20 from the field and 1/1 from the three-point range in 39 minutes of playing time.

After the game, Davis met with the media and shared a bold statement (h/t Spectrum SportsNet).

Davis: "It sucks to lose. No moral victories, no one will feel sorry for us. We're not feeling sorry for ourself; we just gotta figure it out."

Davis has had an excellent season and is now averaging 24.3 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.6 blocks per contest while shooting 54.6% from the field in 27 games.

With the loss, the Lakers fell to 15-14 in their first 29 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and in the middle of a four-game losing streak.

Following the Timberwolves, the Lakers will now go to Oklahoma City to face off against the Thunder on Saturday evening.

On the road, they have gone 5-11 in the 16 games they have played away from Los Angeles, California.
