Anthony Davis' Brutally Honest Quote After Lakers Get Eliminated
On Monday evening, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs by the Denver Nuggets after losing Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals by a score of 113-111.
Davis had a stellar Playoffs and finished Game 4 with 21 points, 14 rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in 40 minutes of playing time.
However, the eight-time NBA All-Star shot just 6/15 from the field (40%).
The Lakers went 2-10 through the first 12 games of the season and were the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
Considering their up-and-down season, the Lakers finishing as a top-four team was a significant accomplishment.
That said, Davis met with the media and shared an honest quote after the game.
Davis: "Obviously, we know where we started beginning of the year and where we got to. But that definitely wasn't the end goal for us. We don't really do moral victories or anything like that. We play to win Championships."
Davis finished his 11th season in the NBA with incredible averages of 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest while shooting 56.3% from the field.
He has played seven seasons for the New Orleans Pelicans and four for the Lakers.
At 30 years old, the former Kentucky star has already cemented himself as one of the best forwards of all time, and he helped lead the Lakers to the 2020 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.
As for the Nuggets, they will now advance to the 2023 Finals.
