Anthony Davis Can Make NBA History In Lakers-Clippers Game

Anthony Davis can make NBA history during Wednesday's game.

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will face off with the Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com Arena (they are the road team in the matchup).

For the game, the status of Anthony Davis is not certain, but if he plays, he will have a chance to move up on the all-time scoring list.

Davis comes into the night with 15,794 points, which ranks 122nd, and he only needs nine to move ahead of NBA Champion point guard Chauncey Billups (15,802) for 121st.

Right now, the former Kentucky star has impressive averages of 26.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest in 53 games while shooting 56.9% from the field.

Therefore, he will more than likely pass Billups if he is able to play on Wednesday night.

Following Billups, the next player for Davis to move ahead of will be Hall of Famer Jack Twyman (15,840).

Wednesday's game between the Lakers and Clippers will have massive implications, as both teams come into the evening with a 41-38 record in 79 games.

The Lakers are one of the hottest teams in the league, currently in the middle of a four-game winning streak and 7-3 in their last ten games.

Whoever wins the matchup will take sole possession of the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference.

Davis is in his 11th season in the league (his fourth with the Lakers) and helped lead the franchise to the 2020 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.
