Anthony Davis' Honest Quote After The Lakers Lost To The Knicks

Anthony Davis met with the media after the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the New York Knicks.

On Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers had their three-game winning streak snapped when they lost 112-108 to the New York Knicks at home in California.

Anthony Davis played 37 minutes and put up 17 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.

He shot 8/18 from the field and 0/1 from the three-point range.

After the game, the eight-time NBA All-Star met with the media and took accountability for the loss.

Davis: "I played terrible, couldn't find my shot, free throws, layups, everything. The guys did their job. I didn't do my job tonight."

On the season, the former Kentucky star is averaging an outstanding 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.1 blocks per contest in 43 games (while shooting 56.0% from the field).

With the loss, the Lakers dropped to 33-35 in 68 games, which has them as them in a four-way tie for the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

They are still 7-3 in their last ten games and 18-16 in the 34 games they have hosted at home in Los Angeles, California.

In addition, the Lakers are only 2.0 games back of the Golden State Warriors for the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot).

They will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans in Louisiana.

On the road, they are 15-19 in 34 games.

Davis is in his fourth season with the franchise, and helped lead them to the NBA Championship in 2020 (over the Miami Heat).
