On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers played the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.

The Lakers had come into the evening as one of the hottest teams in the NBA with a five-game winning streak.

However, they struggled in the second half and lost by a score of 109-90.

Anthony Davis finished the loss with 24 points, 15 rebounds and three assists while shooting 9/17 from the field and 0/1 from the three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

After the game, the All-Star forward met with the media and made an honest remark.

Via Jovan Buha of The Athletic: "Anthony Davis: “Teams can play well and beat us. I think it’s the way we lost tonight that is a wasted opportunity.”"

The Lakers shot just 16.7% from the three-point range and turned the ball over 16 times.

With the loss, the Lakers dropped to 41-33 in 74 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

They are still 7-3 over their last ten games and only 2.0 games behind the Sacramento Kings for the eighth seed (and 3.0 games back of the Dallas Mavericks for the sixth seed).

Following Indiana, the Lakers will now travel to New York to face off against Mikal Bridges and the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.

Davis is in the middle of another incredible season and is averaging 24.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.4 blocks per contest while shooting 55.3% from the field and 28.6% from the three-point range in 69 gamees.
