Anthony Davis Made NBA History In Bucks-Lakers Game
UPDATE: The Lakers won by a score of 123-122, and Anthony Davis had 22 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Milwaukee Bucks in California.
During the game, All-Star forward Anthony Davis made NBA history by moving ahead of Hall of Famer Kevin McHale (17,335) for 94th on the all-time scoring list.
Following McHale, the next player for Davis to pass will be Hall of Famer Steve Nash (17,387).
Davis is having another fantastic season with averages of 24.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.4 blocks per contest while shooting 55.7% from the field and 26.0% from the three-point range in 60 games.
He is one of the best forwards of all time and recently played in his 9th NBA All-Star Game.
The Lakers entered the evening with a 34-30 record in 64 games, which has them tied with the Golden State Warriors for the ninth seed in the Western Conference.
While they have had an up-and-down season, the Lakers have a talented roster that reached the 2023 Conference Finals, so as long as they can get into the playoffs, they will be seen as a contender.
Davis is in his 12th season in the NBA and his fifth playing for Los Angeles.
After spending the first seven years of his career with the New Orleans Pelicans, he was traded to the Lakers before the 2019-20 season.
Following the Bucks, the Lakers will play their next game on Sunday evening when they host Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
At home, they have gone 22-11 in 33 games.
