Anthony Davis Made NBA History In Grizzlies-Lakers Game

Anthony Davis has tied Dennis Rodman on the NBA's all-time playoff blocks list.

On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers advanced to the second round of the NBA Playoffs by beating the Memphis Grizzlies 125-85 in Game 6 to win their first-round series 4-2.

During the game, Anthony Davis made NBA history by moving up on the all-time playoff blocks list.

Davis came into the night with 92 career playoff blocks, which was tied for 88th on the list.

He finished the game with 16 points, 14 rebounds, one assist and five blocks.

Therefore, the eight-time All-Star moved ahead of Antoine Carr (92), Chris Webber (92), Andrew Bogut (93), Kawhi Leonard (93), Marvin Webster (94), Rudy Gobert (94), David West (95), Wayne Cooper (96), Michael Cooper (96) and James Worthy (96).

With 97 career playoff blocks, Davis is now tied with Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman for 79th on the list.

The former Kentucky star had an incredible series with averages of 20.8 points, 13.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 4.3 blocks per contest while shooting 49.0% from the field.

Despite being the seventh seed in the Western Conference, the Lakers have one of the most talented rosters in the league and will have an excellent chance to compete for the 2023 NBA Championship.

In the next round, they will either face off against the Golden State Warriors or the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings defeated the Warriors 118-99 in Game 6 on Friday night, so the series will go to Game 7 in Sacramento on Sunday.

Davis is in his 11th season in the NBA and his fourth playing for the Lakers.

He helped lead the franchise to the NBA Championship in 2020.
