Anthony Davis Made NBA History In Mavs-Lakers Game
On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Dallas Mavericks in California.
During the game, Anthony Davis made NBA history by moving up on the all-time scoring list.
Davis came into the evening with 16,153 career points, and he has now moved ahead of Juwan Howard (16,159) for 114th on the list.
The next player for Davis to pass will be Randy Smith (16,262).
Davis entered the matchup with averages of 22.3 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.1 blocks per contest while shooting 54.6% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range in 14 games.
The Lakers are 9-6 in their first 15 games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.
Most recently, they defeated the Utah Jazz by a score of 131-99.
In 29 minutes of playing time, Davis led the way with 26 points, 16 rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 11/14 from the field.
Davis is in his 12th season in the NBA (his fifth with the Lakers) and has established himself among the best forwards of all time.
The future Hall of Famer has career averages of 24.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per contest while shooting 52.0% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range in 674 regular season games.
He has also appeared in 55 NBA playoff games and helped lead the Lakers to the 2020 NBA Championship.
Following the Mavs, the Lakers will visit the Cleveland Cavaliers in Ohio on Saturday.
