On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are facing off against the Sacramento Kings in California.

For the game, they will be without some of their best players, including Anthony Davis.

Via Jovan Buha of The Athletic: "Darvin Ham says LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, Jarred Vanderbilt and Cam Reddish are out tonight."

Davis is coming off another sensational season where he averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest while shooting 56.3% from the field in 56 games.

The 2023-24 season will be his 12th season in the NBA, and he has proven to be among the best power forwards of all time.

His career averages are 24.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per contest while shooting 51.9% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range in 660 regular season games.

The Lakers were the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record and beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament.

They defeated the Memphis Grizzlies (second seed) and Golden State Warriors (sixth seed) but were swept in the Western Conference Finals by the Denver Nuggets.

Despite the tough ending in the playoffs, the Lakers had an excellent season and will be seen as a contender to win the 2024 NBA Championship.

Following the Kings, the Lakers will host the Golden State Warriors at home on Sunday.

They will play their first regular season game on October 24 when they visit the Denver Nuggets in Colorado.
