Big Khris Middleton Injury Update
Khris Middleton is among the best players in the NBA.
That said, the Milwaukee Bucks star is coming off a tough season where he dealt with injuries.
He only played in 33 regular season games (and five NBA playoff games) and averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest while shooting 43.6% from the field and 31.5% from the three-point range (this summer, Middleton also had knee surgery).
On Friday, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reported that head coach Adrian Griffin said Middleton participated in 5-on-5 work at Friday's practice.
Via Nehm: "Bucks coach Adrian Griffin just told reporters that everyone on the roster, including Khris Middleton, participated in 5-on-5 work today."
In 2022, Middleton averaged an impressive 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 44.3% from the field and 37.3% from the three-point range (and made his third NBA All-Star Game).
His health will be critical to the team's success, and he appears to be on the right trajectory.
Last year, the Bucks were the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 58-24 record (the best in the league) but lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
In 2021, they won the NBA Championship over the Phoenix Suns, and they have made the playoffs for seven straight seasons.
This season, the Bucks will be expected to compete for a title (even more than last year) because they acquired Damian Lillard in a blockbuster trade.
