Big News About Steph Curry Reported On Thursday

According to ESPN's Nick DePaula, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry signed a contract extension with Under Armour.

Steph Curry has been the winningest superstar in the NBA over the last eight seasons.

The Golden State Warriors have been to the NBA Finals six times and won four titles in that span.

Curry has cemented himself among the 15 greatest players in league history and is also one of the most popular players ever. 

He has a signature shoe and the "Curry Brand" with Under Armour, and on Thursday, ESPN's Nick DePaula reports that the two-time MVP has signed an extension with the company. 

Via DePaula: "BREAKING: @StephenCurry30 has signed a long-term extension with Under Armour, extending beyond his playing days. 

Curry will be awarded substantial equity in UA and is now President of Curry Brand. 

“We share a vision for a big future ahead,” said Curry." 

DePaula also shared a statement from Under Armour's founder Kevin Plank. 

Plank via DePaula: “Why equity was such an important part of this is that Curry Brand and Under Armour are meant to help each other equally throughout this. We’re going to build a kick-ass, long-term, foundational brand with Curry.”

On top of being one of the best players in the NBA, Curry is one of the most notable celebrities in the world.

He has 50 million followers on Instagram and 17.3 million on Twitter.

The former Davidson star currently has averages of 29.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.0 steals per contest.

Right now, the Warriors are 40-37 in 77 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
